gdansk - poland

Gdansk was a surprise. I booked my flight back to Edinburgh from there before I had any concrete plans, because it was only £18. We only had one night there, but it is the kind of place that looks like it would be an awesome summer getaway, because it is both beautiful and cheap.

Amazing buildings in Gdansk

Gdansk is located on the right in the north of Poland, and you can definitely feel the chill in the winter! We stayed at the Riverside Hostel and had an awesome river view room, although arriving late at night and checking out the next day meant we didn't get to spend too much time there.

What all the streets in the old part look like

This is mostly bombed in the war and all restarted. Gdansk is actually the first point of invasion from the war.

The buildings here are stunning, and it is so hard to capture in pictures the intricacy of the building facades but I tried!

We went to a cute cafe called Top Hat and then flew back into Edinburgh that night. A short but sweet visit!
