Last year I feel like I managed to get a lot of awesome things accomplished even though I didn't have actual goals, other than a vague plan to make it to the UK at some point!
Some of my successful highlights of the year included:
Visiting Tasmania with my Mum, a long term dream of ours
Richmond Bridge, the oldest in Australia |
Port Arthur |
My Mum at Wineglass Bay |
My beautiful Mum walking the Tasmanian Coast |
Camped at an amazing music festival, Byron Bay Bluesfest, where I got to see John Fogerty perform one of my favourite songs ever. This was the fulfillment of one of those dreams that you don't think would ever really come true.
Check out my digs |
Dad and me hanging at our campsite |
Mama and me on our way to the stages |
Visited friends in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, including cousins I hadn't seen in near 10 years
Debbie and me overlooking Adelaide |
Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk
|
Favourite pastime, hanging out in a cafe in Melbourne |
Spent more time with my family, particularly enjoying the lifestyle of the Gold Coast
My family |
I <3 the Gold Coast and sun |
Made some new friends on the Gold Coast to explore with
The super talented Emily |
Fortunate picture I didn't even know I was taking |
Let's be adventurers |
Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam
|
Crazy nights in Saigon where plans are made |
Just after having my eyes fried... |
My nightwear for awhile |
Got a tattoo...happy 25th to me!
Waiting to go in for my tattoo |
And that only skims the surface. I also saw Florence + The Machine, which was amazing, slept in a teepee in the hippie town of Nimbin, and other things I cant even think of right now!
So for 2013 I actually took the time while we were travelling to think about what I wanted to do. Some of it is serious and some random. Some of it I'm on my way to achieving and some I already know I cant.
Regardless, here is my Goals 2013 as it appeared in my iPhone notes when my year of 2012 living in Australia turned to 2013 living in Edinburgh. Now they are on the internet I have to do them...
1. Make some really good friends in Edinburgh
2. Update my blog regularly - trying!
3. Run a half marathon - should probably get on that...
4. Read more classic literature
5. Go to Thailand in April
6. Educate myself more about business to increase job prospects
7. Look good for Sarah's wedding - see Run a half marathon...training!
8. Go to Vegas in July - unfortunately not this year. BUT on for next year.
9. Visit 10 countries in 2013 - on my way! I have 6 already by July and more to organise.
So there you have it. An uneven 9 things that I wanted to achieve as of 12.00am 1st January 2014.
Lets see what I can actually do if I plan for it! Nothing too hard. But it's a start.
